Getting Ready

things are getting done, but not without a few bumps ^^^^^^^ in the road.

we are finally living in our new house and the new floors have been put in.
a cute little nook with bay windows in our dining/kitchen.

they are doing inspections on the building today. Let's hope all goes well so I can open my pod and get to work.

But I have been working on a few new things at home until everything gets gone.
peat pots, new paper, and I acquired 300 more burlap coffee bags that will be $3.50 each

also a paper note pad 5" x 17" long. kind of matchbook style.

I guess I have to learn sometime....
Anyway I hope to open soon, I miss everyone and am sooooooo ready to work again.

Walls, windows, trim oh my

You can see the progress being made!

Windows and trim are being added today.

After the initial building is constructed we move onto the insulation, heat, and interior walls.

We had to stop for dear crossing this morning. There are often large groups of dear and antelope along the road.

Foundation

It looks like the shop building will be finished before the remodel in our home!

Foundation is down and frame will be finished this week!

Super excited to get open!

Still estimating 3rd week of May for open date.

Ground breaking

New location!

Look at the empty plot where Carmen's Curiosity Shopnwill be the end of May!

A lot of work to be done, but permits are being pushed thru for building, and the workshop is on its way to be built!

We will post the official address and directions when it is closer to opening day, but it is in Bennett which is 20 min. East of Aurora.

We take Quincy east (16 miles past E470) and you're almost there!

It is a nice straight road, 55 mph with no cops to be seen and virtually no traffic.

We are also 15 min. Off I70 (Kiowa Bennett road exit)

Doesn't look like the same place does it?

We were even nice enough to replace the ceiling tiles we cut holes into.

Zeru was quite the helper.

We are officially out of the shop and close on the new property TODAY!

Keep watching for updates. Carmen is also excited to report she will be working on all sorts of NEW projects for spring!

Of course new furniture, crafted items, and even a clothing line made as a blank canvas for YOU to embellish with your own unique style.
